My First Blog
I'm copying my sister-in-law Erin and creating a family blog so those who are interested can come take a peek into our little lives. Erin's right, it's just too hard to keep a family web site updated with all the fun little things that happen in a day, and I just can't expect everyone to check our web site all that often. So this way, you can scan past entries and see what you've missed, if you want to.

So here goes with my first BLOG!!!

Ryan left for the Grand Canyon this morning. He's taking the Venturers (Priest-aged Scouts) on a rim-to-rim-to-rim hike this week. He said he'd try not to make me a Grand Canyon widow, since the National Park service included a note with their hiking permit that said that their plan is too dangerous and they advise against it. But they've been training hard, hiking in the desert for months, so I think they'll be okay. They'll be back late Saturday night. He took the camera and all but one memory card, so there ought to be lots of pictures to share next week.

I thinkI might tear my hair out being home alone for 6 days with a 2-year old and a newborn. Luckily, though, my friend Eva (she lives four doors down, also just had a baby) is sending her husband off on a business trip until Thursday. So we're going to hang out, watch chick flicks, and try to do some other fun things if our kids will let us.

Jared is on the verge of potty training. He hides to do his business and cries for a clean diaper when he's stinky. He's pooped twice on the potty now, for which he receives his own special cheer from anyone nearby. He's still unsure about it, though, and we're not going to push it in light of all the other big changes that have recently upset his life.
He's obsessed with "baby Zach-wee" and is trying very hard to make him play with him. Our constant reminder that "he's too little" or "when he's bigger" is apparently sinking in. The other day he told me that his new sippy cup can't talk, but it will when it gets bigger.

Zach is getting pudgy (sort of) and feels like a brick! He looks huge to us now. He's finally staying awake for a little while. My mom mentioned that in most of his pictures his eyes are closed. So I tried to remedy that situation last night. There are several new photos posted in our June Yahoo Photo Album.

Now I'm off to make a button for our web site so y'all can find this here blog!
