OUR PARK IS OPEN AGAIN!The park close to our house was remodeled this summer. It was supposed to be done by July 4th, but that's close to mid-September, right? Anyway, we're just happy that it's done. It's much nicer now, with lots of sidewalks for Jared to ride his bike on. They added another set of playground equipment, this one for younger kids (age 2-5). The old one is still there, and now Jared can use it, but last year he couldn't. There are no steps to get onto it! Just a chain ladder, monkey bars, and some other thing that are too hard for short legs. So I would have to lift him up each time. The new one is perfect. And they put huge canopies above them for shade! That makes them tolerable in the summer.
We've gone twice this week because it's now getting tolerable outside! Actually, it's quite nice, about 8 degrees cooler than normal. You would all think that 91 is hot, but we all run outside and soak in the cool. There are lots of people at the park now, because we all want to get outside. I've even caught myself considering wearing pants. Jared is fascinated by long jeans and refuses to wear shorts anymore.
EXPLAINING PHOTOS
I just uploaded lots of photos to Yahoo, and realized that I've been to busy to Blog about them before. So here goes.
There was a ward party out at someone's grandpa's old citrus orchard. They have cows running on the land now, and they took us on a "hayride." A tractor pulled us on a trailer through the orchards. None of the pictures of that turned out well. Then there were some games for the kids--the Hokey Pokey and the Chicken Dance. Jared had never heard of the Hokey Pokey, but gave it his best shot. He's pretty good at the Chicken Dance because they do it at Diamondbacks games. Then we had dinner on the lawn, accompanied by about 10 quabillion flies. Eeew! We set out "sacrificial" food so the flies wouldn't land on our own. It was pretty nasty.
We have pictures of Jared playing at the park, too. And some other day-to-day photos, too. Check them out!
