OFF TO COURT
Turns out Ryan was appearing before a Grand Jury, so spectators aren't allowed. So we sent off a very snappily-dressed Ryan to court all by himself. He may still be there right now!
Ryan's dad has paralegal training, so he told us what a Grand Jury does. Assuming that some of you out there may be as ignorant about it as I was, a Grand Jury decides if there is enough evidence to hold a trial. We have no reason to assume that there isn't enough evidence. In fact, I think the guy confessed to murdering our neighbor! But I can't remember. They took enough stuff out of the other unit of our duplex (window screens, carpet, etc) that I don't think they have a shortage of evidence.
