DON'T KNOW WHERE
I don't know where Jared picked this up, but today he was looking at a diagram of the solar system with Ryan. Ryan explained that the number next to each planet told how many moons that planet had. When they got to Jupiter, Jared exclaimed, "It says that Jupiter has sixty-three moons!" I was over in the kitchen and asked, "how do you know it has sixty-three?" "Because it says a 6 and then a 3."
Wow. I didn't know he knew his numbers that well. In fact, it was only a few weeks ago that I had trouble convincing him that 10 was ten, not twenty.
But then he went on to Saturn and said, "it has forty-six moons, because it says 4 and then a 6."

Of course, technically he's not ready for kindergarten because kids have to be able to count to twenty. After nine, Jared says, "ten, eleven, twelve, fourteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, eleven, nineteen, fifteen, eleven, etc." I hope he doesn't get held back a year...
