EVAI got to spend two afternoons with my friend, Eva. It was so, so weird as I walked up to her door. I'd done it so many times, but not for a year. Then I stepped in, and it was like a time-warp. We couldn't bring ourselves to feel rushed because I was only in town visiting. I kept feeling like I needed to walk back home to start dinner before Ryan got home from work, and we just could NOT manage to feel like it wasn't last year, despite how much bigger our kids are. It was vey strange.
The kids had a great time playing together. Kyle got to wrestle with Zach and Jared (he has 4 sisters!), and there was just a lot of kids, so no one was left out. And it was fun to see Zach and Ally together, because they were born 2 weeks apart while we lived 4 houses apart. You can see some pictures here.
I took her the dishes I so carefully stuffed into the boys' suitcases. She is absolutely in love with that pattern (Anchor-Hocking Savannah) and then they discontinued it. When I found huge piles of them at Dollar Tree, I snatched them up even though I was in Idaho. I figured we'd get them to her somehow. She was so happy to have them.
We felt like dorks because over the past year, we realized that we don't have any pictures of us together. So we took one yesterday. It's no glamour shot, but we figured no makeup was better than no photo! I still don't know why look like a helmet-head...does my hair usually do that?
