I call it stress-free, because today we couldn't do anything. Nothing's open, and we don't get the keys to our new house until tomorrow. And I call it stress-free because we took the easy route for Thanksgiving dinner. Our menu was:
- StoveTop stuffing
- Monkey Bread made with Rhodes frozen dough
- Jello
- Sweet potatoes from a can (then baked)
- Rotisserie chicken from Costco
- From scratch mashed potatoes (at least something was from scratch!)
- Canned gravy
- Costco pumpkin pie (Mmmmm!)
- Canned whipped cream
- Pomegranate 7UP
Before dinner, we went around the table to say what we were thankful for. Ryan and I are thankful for a his job, a new house, and all the comforts we have. Zach said he is thankful for church (that was a surprise!) Jared said he's thankful that it's Thanksgiving! Then Zach added that he's thankful for Thanksgiving FOOD! (now that sounds like him!) I wrote these things down so I wouldn't forget. Later, Jared said, "and I'm thankful for this yummy soda! And you can write that down."
After Thanksgiving Linner (we ate at 1:00), we went on a chilly walk on the Green Belt. Jared got to take his bike for the first time ever! Too bad he ran over his little brother! It was Zach's fault, though, because he ran in front of Jared's bike. Still sad, though.
On the drive home, we asked who wanted some pumpkin pie. Zach was getting sleepy, but nodded. I asked him if he knows what pumpkin pie is. He shook his head, then fell asleep.
Both boys decided they like pumpkin pie.
Then I loaded both our Jeeps with our Christmas tree & decorations, and some more things to haul over to the new house when we get the keys. I can't believe we finally get our house tomorrow! We've been waiting nearly 2 years to find out where we'll live. This year, we truly have much to be thankful for!
Here are our pictures from today.
