GOTTA LOVE THEIR HONESTY
A few days ago, Jared told me, with great feeling, I might add, that he wanted Christmas pajamas. With everyting that is going on, I thought, "nice thought, but fat chance"
But I like a challenge. He has some plaid flannel pj pants (actually his cousin's hand-me downs) and a red tee-shirt. I got thinking and planning...
When we went to DI yesterday, I found a brand new red sweatshirt in Jared's size, and a pair of pj pants with santa hats in Zachs size. So I went home and appliqued simple triangle Christmas trees on the red tee shirt and sweatshirt, paired them with the pj pants, and wrapped them up for the boys.
I let them open them tonight during half-time of the BYU Las Vegas Bowl game. They were so excited to get Christmas presents early, until they saw what was inside. Jared was had a look on his face that said, "why did you wrap up my old pajama pants?" And Zach came out and said, "I don't like those pee-jammy pants!" I tried to redeem myself by asking Jared, "Do you remember when you told me that you want Christmas pajamas?"
"Uh, no."
Then Zach yelled when I tried to put his pants on. "I don't like those pee-jammy pants!!!!"

They seem to have warmed up to them now, but come on! I made the impossible happen here! I think I deserve a little love for that.

On a brighter note, Jared was excited about the Santa tie I made for him (it was a $ store buy, and I made it into a youth-sized tie with velcro). I had a tense moment when Zach said, "I want a Santa tie, too!" But I let him try it on, and he ripped it off within 5 seconds, so I think we're okay...
