The best part is that they have a geothermal swimming pool! They also have sledding hills and (hopefully) lots of snow.
So I find myself wondering where our swimming suits, beach towels, sunscreen, and sunglasses are. After all, it is February! It seems like it wasn't that long ago that we didn't see the sun for two weeks straight.
But stranger still, I have to pack snowpants, snowboots, and a sled along with our swimsuits and floaties.
The Venturers will be camping in the snow, but Ryan wisely booked us a cabin. He says it's fun camping in the snow. I think men like to prove their toughness by purposely exposing themselves to controlled amounts of nature, so they feel like they can survive any conditions. (Nevermind the sophisticated sleeping bags and chemical hand-warmers, without which they would be miserable.)
Women, on the other hand, think, "Isn't that why we bought a house? So we wouldn't have to sleep outside in the cold? DUH!!!" And we stay at home in our soft warm beds. Or we rent a soft warm bed in a cabin next to the snow.
This is going to be a great weekend!
