FUNNY LITTLE DUDE
Zach is so funny. He doesn't seem to care about writing, but he loves to type. He types to Daddy on the instant messenger. He types on his drawing program. He gets into trouble because he likes to type wherever he can, including renaming files on the desktop (they generally stop working after he renames them).
After he learned to type his name many months ago, he discovered that we were spelling it wrong. He started adding a Y to the end, to spell Zachy instead of plain old Zach like I was teaching him. Silly me!
I was a little late picking Zach up from nursery after church last week. He was the last kid in there. When I walked in, he got a very sad look on his face and said, "She forgot the Y!" He was almost in tears. Thinking maybe I had found a way to get him to want to write, I suggested that he write the Y in himself. But no. He was so, so sad. I told him I'd write it on at home. Nope, that didn't help, either.
Finally, his teacher couldn't stand that poor little bottom lip sticking out a mile. She found a crayon and added the Y. Zach instantly perked up and proclaimed, "Okay, now we can leave!" and he ran for the door.
What a nut!
I'll bet his teacher doesn't forget the Y next week.
