The Fourth of July
I enjoyed going to the Scout Breakfast, but I'm starting to reconsider going next year. That's because we got up early to go, then packed in as much as we could do for Ryan's day off and the holiday, then stayed up late to watch fireworks. We're all utterly exhausted! And Jared was much too excited to take a nap, so he was very emotional by dinner time.
But all in all it was a fun day. About 2:30 we went to University Pool, and Jared loved it! He's only lasted about an hour in the other pools we've been to, partially due to boredom and mostly due to purple lips. He comes out shivering even though it's 110 degrees! The water today was too warm for us adults, but Jared stayed in for over two hours. It was hunger and fatigue that finally got him out of the water. He fell asleep in the car. When I got him out, he sleepily muttered, "That was fun."
Then we went to Grandma & Grandpa's house for dinner, and then to watch fireworks from afar. Jared loved them, and the booming was far enough away that it wasn't scary for him or for Zach.
Zach slept through most of his first Fourth. Imagine that.
