Zach is 2 months old!Lynne came over this morning to watch Jared so I could sleep in. Zach usually sleeps in with me, but he was bright-eyed early today. So Lynne watched both boys and I caught a few more hours of shut-eye. When I got up, Zach was finishing a bottle, but was still a bit fussy. When I picked him up, he relaxed and stared at me, smiling faintly, for about 5 minutes. Then his eyes fluttered closed, the smile still on his face. I think he actually missed me!
I was very excited to take him to the doctor tomorrow, but apparently our insurance company messed up and didn't add him to our plan. So I had to reschedule for the 26th, or I have to call on the 12th at 7:30 am to see if there is an opening that day. But first I have to make sure he's added to our insurance!
Jared has said some cute things recently that I thought I'd share. He likes to look for moles, seeing how Ryan and I have so many between us. And Jared has some now, too. The other night, he was sharing some ice cream with Ryan and got some of the fudge on his arm. Later, he found the smudge, and in a very worried tone said, "Ah-oh! My mole broke!"
We went to the mall one evening to let Jared run amok in the play area there. While circling for a parking spot, the mall security Jeep Liberty drove past with its lights flashing. Jared was very excited, but a little bit confused. He said, "A fire...a fire...a fire JEEP!"
He recognizes symbols, now. He pointed to a photo developing envelope on my desk, pointed to the store label and said, "Mommy! You got this at Costco!" Then just today he pointed to a symbol at the dollar store checkout-counter and said, "This means Dollar Store!"
