HIGH FIVES FOR THE WAVING SIGNER'S NEW TOOTH!
Wow, I looked in Zach's baby book, and it's been over two weeks since he started giving high fives, but it's still one of his favorite games. It's so cute--he does this long wind up, cocking his right arm back behind his ear. It looks like he's really gonna whack your hadn! Then slides his hand down the side of his face and gently pats your hand several times. He also does, "gimme five."
Saturday, his final tooth finally made its appearance. He now has four top teeth and two on the bottom. His goofy, lopsided grin is gone.
Yesterday, as Jared and I left for Nursery, I said bye-bye to Zach and he waved! That was out of the blue; we haven't been working on that. At least not consciously.
We have been working on the baby sign for "more." This past week, with Ryan, Jared and I all signing it at once, he decided maybe this isn't just a fun game, and he patted the palm of his hand. That's kinda close (the sign is to point to the palm of your other hand with your index finger.) But he didnt' seem to understand why in the world we kept doing that to him.
But this morning, as I poured myself a bowl of Cheerios, he stared at me longingly from the floor. I asked, "Do you want some Cheerios?" and he patted the palm of one hand with the fingers of the other! So, for using his sign to communicate with me, he gets this date marked in his baby book.
