WE'RE MOVING!
We're officially moving to Boise, Idaho. Sorry, Salt Lake! You can't have us.
The excitement has worn off a bit, replaced by an overwhelming amount of work to be done. I'm trying to get the house all shiny and sparkling before we put it on the market. I'm having a blast "staging" the house. That means making it look like a model home. I've been "shopping" at my inlaw's and friend's houses, asking to borrow the coolest of their possessions. I've bought a few things, too. Unfortunately, some of the great decorating ideas aren't all too practical. Like having nothing but a vase of tulips on your bathroom counter. It's hard to find the toothpaste in the cabinet. But if it will sell the house faster and for more $$$, we'll live with it for a while. This place is going to look awesome! I'll be sure to post a link to the virtual tour.
We're also trying to decide exactly what to do once we manage to sell this house. Do we buy another house right away, and if so, where? Nampa, Meridian, or Boise? Who has the best schools for our bright little boys? If we don't buy right away, but decide to rent for a few months while we house-hunt, where do we rent? Who will give us a month-to-month contract? What if house prices go up while we're renting? Can we afford to buy some land and build? We have connections, there are definite benefits...WHAT SHOULD WE DO???
It's all very confusing to be a grown-up. Who knew?
Ryan hiked in Paria Canyon this past weekend with the Venturers. He left Thursday after work and got back Saturday after 10 pm. I didn't know what it was, but check out this website and you'll see how cool it really is! But man, it's hard for me to only have the company of a 3 year old for conversation, who thinks Lion King 1 1/2 is the epitomy of a good movie. And who, on movie night, uses the popcorn as "dirt" for his Tonka trucks to bulldoze and haul around the family room. For three days in a row.
But that's just a warm-up. This next week, he's on staff at Powderhorn. That's some big training camp/meeting. He leaves Wednesday night (I thought it was Thursday) and comes back late Saturday. The weekend after that, he seems to have free (good thing, it's Easter), but the weekend after that is session two of Powderhorn, meaning an identical week. I told him, "Nice knowing ya."
The weather is nicer now that it's cooled off. It already reached 99 degrees this year. Is that sick and wrong or what? But a cold-front came through and it actually rained. A lot. Intersections were flooded and we got to splash through some big puddles. It's still a bit warm (82 today), but there is solace in knowing that we won't live here forever.

Moving up to Idaho! How... exciting?
And, maybe we are just bad parents, but Ethan has been watching A Bug's Life about once a day for the last week or so.
So I can relate.
