GEARING UP FOR WINTER
We're heading for higher ground this weekend, and snow is in the forecast for our destination, Cascade. So are shopping frantically for winter gear, since we desert transplants aren't exactly prepared.
Today, I found two coats for me. One for general use and one for church or special occasions. And of course, I found them in my favorite store--any store with the word "thrift" in it! This one is by Columbia, so it's one of those coats you could survive in if lost in the mountains for a few days.
They cost about $160 new. The other still has tags from Macy's on it. Their similar coats this season are about $99. And of course, I didn't pay nearly that much for them! $55 for both!
