JARED'S GETTING ALL BUBBLY
We used some old Contact paper to cover a big cardboard box to corral part of our plethora of toys. Jared had fun watching and playing with the huge rolls of backing paper when I peeled them off. Then I used a permanent marker to draw the word "TOYS" on the front. Jared got a turn with the marker (scary!) to write his choice, "TOY BOX" on the other side.
He asked me which letters to write, but when I watched how his hand was moving, I didn't see how he could be writing a T, and he seemed to be thinking extra hard. So I went around behind him to see what he was doing.
He was writing "bubble letters." You know, when you make a big fat letter by just drawing the outline. Take a moment to imagine how much thought goes into figuring out how to draw bubble letters. And here he was doing it when he's just learning how to write!
We took the box in to show Aunt Kelly, who said that she hadn't figured out how to draw bubble letters until she was 14! I don't remember how old I was, but it definitely wasn't even in the first few years of school! You'll notice in the picture that he didn't write the B in bubble letters, but can you blame him? That's a hard one.
