POPPED EAR DRUM
On Sunday, I was combing Zach's hair for church when I noticed that his outer ear was crusty. When I looked inside, it looked like boogers were running out of it! It was kinda gross. I cleaned it off and rushed to church.
When I got home, I researched it online and didn't find any definitive information. But I thought he probably had popped his ear drum. You'd think that it would be painful, and that he'd be cranky and feverish and sick. But he's as happy as I've seen him all winter!
So we took him to the doctor, who couldn't see into his ear to see if it is perforated. But she said that nothing but earwax can come out of an ear unless the ear drum is broken. So now Zach is on a super dose of antibiotics and expensive antibiotic ear drops to let his ear drum heal.
During the exam, though, Zach was bouncing off the walls in his glee. He liked weighing himself on the scale, and tried to do it again and again, tried opening all the drawers, and once even escaped out the door at top-speed. A few times I wondered why I was taking him to the doctor!
