HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZACHARY!
Zach turns two today! He doesn't understand what it means, I think, but he still got pretty excited when I wished him a happy birthday this morning.
And just to check my facts before I go bragging, I tested him on his letters, their sounds, and his counting. And he passed with flying colors. So before his second birthday, he officially learned (1) All the letters (2) the sounds each letter makes and (3) to count to nine. Not too shabby! Oh, and don't forget his colors. He knows all of them except orange, which he may know, but can't pronounce.
We still haven't planned when his party will be. We'd like to invite someone over to make it a little more festive. It will probably be Thursday or Saturday. He's going to have dinosaur decorations! I'll be sure to share pictures after the shindig.

Post-note: I tried to teach Zach how old he is today. We haven't really done that before now, but he must have heard Jared say it many many times because when I asked him, he said "four." I said, "no, Jared is four. Zach is two." He shook his head. "No two, four."
When I put him to bed, I tried again.
"How old are you?"
"One." So now he gets it right, but a day late!
"No, now you're two because it's your birthday."
"No two, three."
"How old are you?"
"Three."
I think this is going to take a while.

On a happy note, I told him that we would have a party for his birthday. His eyes got big. Then I said we'd decorate with dinosaurs and asked if that was a good idea. His eyes got bigger and he nodded. So I think he'll enjoy that!
