I can't believe I haven't blogged about this yet. 4 days ago (on Wednesday), my long-awaited digital SLR camera came in the mail! I've been wishing for an SLR since high school. I actually bought one back then, an old, used, quality (NOT) Yashika brand SLR. But then the batteries for the light meter ran out and I've been searching ever since for their non-existent replacements.
Anyway, I got a smokin' deal on it (at least I think so--and I haven't seen anyone beat it since). I got the camera and all standard accessories (like a battery and strap), two lenses, a bag, an extra battery, 2 GB memory card, and a remote control, plus a bunch of little stuff like memory card wallet and cleaning cloth, for $50 less than Costco's best deal. Cha-ching!
I've taken, oh, probably 1000 photos with it already. It's been really fun. I made a folder for just a few of them here (aren't you glad I didn't upload all of them?)
Good-bye point and shoot, hello great photos!

I am so jealous!
Hey cutie! Fun blog -- and congrats on the great camera deal. Larry is on the hunt for a good set-up deal as well. Hope things are going well for you in Boise -- we have less than 6 months left until Larry finishes his MBA. Woohoo! Thought about you the other day when I heard, "If I Had a Million Dollars" ("but not a real green dress that's cruel"). :) Take care! Anna
