Another set of curtains DONE! Don't I have the coolest kitchen windows EVER? The sink is in the corner and I have two kitchen windows to look out of.
You'll notice in the "before" picture that the windows came outfitted with 2 1/2" pocket rods. The kind that was very popular in the early 90's or so. Not so popular now, but I jerry-rigged it so the curtains hide them and are a
The curtains are pink to go with my light pink counter tops. I've learned to roll with what a rental gives you. You can't fight the pink. Or the forest green (carpet in our apartment in Provo). You've got to work with it or it takes on a life of its own.
So I have a pink kitchen. I used to be very much a non-pink kind of girl, but with all these boys in my life, I think very pink is just what I need to balance things out. I'll enjoy it while I can!
Oh, and speaking of enjoy, my new sewing machine is AWESOME! With what I learned in my class, I got it to sew through layers and layers (probably 6?) of heavy fabric, totalling about 1/4" thick. And I did a little decorative stitching, and super-close-to-the-edge stitching with my blind hem foot. All tricks I learned at my class! I wish everyone could afford to buy a new machine and take the free class that comes with it!
A special thanks to my sister, Sara, for finding the fabric for me when we went shopping together in Dallas last month. And a special thanks to my sister in law Josette for taking us to that cool fabric store in Dallas! I got both fabrics for 99 cents a yard!
