DAY TWO
We're on day two of potty training. I really don't think that one day is long enough for a kid to understand what's going on. I mean, how often do they have to go to the bathroom in one day, even while pouring as much liquid into them as I can? Is that enough times to break 2 years of habit and create a new one? I think not.
Zach is doing great, really. I don't think I could ask more from him. He is going all by himself and doesn't have accidents when he's not too distracted. He'll go when he's playing. I think dinner was too much of a distraction, though. Tonight, I'll be taking him half-way through. And hopefully he doesn't wake up grumpy from his nap. Those days are tough, and he just happened to have one of those days on the day we started potty training. Very inconvenient.
One thing is for sure. We need to get him doing this better before it gets cold. Because he's been running around completely buck today. Jared was buck or wore just a tee shirt for his potty training career, but he started in July in Phoenix. The highs start dropping below 100 in late October there, so we had plenty of time.
The sad part about this is that we usually use 3 diapers per day. And now, with potty training, we're using 2--one for naps and one for bed. Until he gets night-time potty trained, we're really not going to save much $$!

He's forgotten about his food treat, which is good. I'd be running out of strawberries fast! He is happy to get a sticker. But he doesn't know what to do with them. He tried sticking them on his shirt, but they rip when he takes them off. And he's very sad when Lightening McQueen gets "broken." So we got him a piece of paper to stick them on. He calls it his "scrapbook." Gee, maybe I've been indoctrinating the child!
