GREAT COMPLIMENT
I was talking to a grandma at Jared's trial gymnastics lesson this week. She asked if we had family nearby and the discussion turned to babysitters. She suggested that I find out who the LDS girls in my area are, because they have old-fashioned values, so they play with the kids instead of texting and calling their friends the whole time.
So congratulations to the local LDS girls in our area, past and present (after all, her kids are all grown)! You've done a great job showing your values and being upstanding young women!
It reminds me of a story I heard from a person who went to an emergency-preparedness fair. There were booths there to buy water purifiers, emergency shelters, dried food, etc. But one booth was selling lists of "emergency contacts." Upon inspection this person was surprised to find that their lists were none other than LDS Ward rosters! The peddler said, "You don't need to buy all sorts of food and gear. In an emergency, just go to the houses on this list. They'll have plenty, and they'll share it, too."
It's very very wrong, but very funny at the same time!
