At first, we had to lure the birds out of the water. After we emptied our bags of bread, Jared found his favorite goose-related pastime, chasing them back into the water!
Last year, the bottoms of our shoes were so caked with goose poop that they sat outside for days, while I worked up the nerve to wash them. So I just about died when Jared bailed and slid a few feet on his stomach. Somehow, he didn't get smeared. And our shoes weren't bad at all. Phew!
On our way home, we stopped by the Boise Depot, the old train station. It's pretty cool, because it's up on a bluff, and lit up at night, so it's quite a landmark. It's surrounded by beautiful gardens with old stone steps, ponds, and creeks. We'll be going back sometime for family photos, I'm sure!
It also has a great view of downtown Boise, straight up Capitol Boulevard.
The Proclamation on the Family mentions that we should spend time with our families doing wholesome recreational activities. I think we did a pretty good job of that!
Oops! Almost forgot to link you to our other photos of our day. I got some good ones!

You guys are always doing such fun things as a family! I was thinking that you guys would love geocaching. Maybe you already know what it is, but if not go to www.geocaching.com. We love it and it's perfect for a family activity.
Geocaching has been tickling our brains for a while now, but I'm afraid of the price tag right now. If we ever have any extra money laying around, though...Yeah right!

Sounds like you had a blast. :) I'm glad that you guys get to go out and do things together. What fun pictures too.
How fun! We have a running trail along the Jordan river that we like to go on bike rides on. I always make sure no one stops in some areas and that we bike at least another mile before we have to pack the bikes back in the car for the caked on bird poo factor.
