TODAY WAS BETTER
Yes, today was better. No potty accidents, no more holes in quilts, and considering the time I spent working on a quilt today, that's remarkable.
Still, it wasn't as smooth as it could have been. First, Zach helped himself to a generous portion of cake for breakfast, while I was taking a shower. And Zach again got into my fingernail polish. This time he painted his lips orange and graffitied my bathroom rug. He was so proud of the B he painted on it! It is blue, so now with a big orange B on it, along with other pretty orange patterns, it we now have a Boise State Bronco's rug. They sell those in Walmart, but ours is unique! Good thing it's a cheap $4 thing I bought for our duplex because everything else was in storage. No love was lost.
I thought he'd learn a lesson when I had to wipe his lips with nail polish remover. I have to make sure I was my hands twice, with lots of soap, after I use that stuff, otherwise I can taste the bittering agent for hours afterward. But he didn't seem to mind at all. That's a little disturbing!
Of course, you're thinking, "why doesn't she just move the nail polish?" And probably, "why does she have orange nail polish?" But to address the first one, we have one of those etagére things--cabinets that go above your toilet, but there's not so much room in it! I mean we have all sorts of even more dangerous things up there, like aspirin and Comet. You know, things that kill kids instead of just bathroom rugs. I might have to install a baby lock on the bathroom drawer.
To address the second question, I also have black fingernail polish, and the two colors are used in conjuction, and but once a year. I'm not one of those people who are great at making up Halloween costumes (that one year excepted when I painted my face like a skull, anatomy book as reference, and scared a few kids witless), so I do the cute pumpkin tee-shirt and black and orange fingernails instead.
