Thanks, Cherie, for the idea to tell where we were on 9/11 2001.
I got up to go to my early History of Wildlife class at BYU. I would never turn on the tv while I ate breakfast, but for some reason, I took my cereal to the living room of my dumpy split-level duplex and turned it on just in time to watch the second plane hit the towers. I had no idea what I was watching! I was so confused. I watched until I had to leave for class, and I think I saw the towers fall. When I got to my class in the basement of the Bean Museum, late, everyone had a stunned look on their face. The professor talked about it for a while, then tried to get on with his lecture. I don't remember much about that.
Classes went on as usual, but that evening, all my roommates gathered in our living room and watched the news. Then Mandy and Ryan came over to join us. I'd just met Ryan, and had been on 2 or 3 dates. I remember we were hungry, but couldn't pry our eyes off the tv. So I scrounged anything that was fast and easy. I think we ate cornbread and tater tots. I remember that I burned my forearm on the tater tot pan, and Ryan remembers that as the first time he tried dipping them in Ranch. Silly memories on such a solemn occasion.
I'd love to hear your "where were you?" stories. If you want to post it on your own blog, leave a comment so I'll know to go check it!
By the way, I feel kind of dumb for not having thought of this for the past 7 years, but today we flew our American flag in front of our house. I saw several other houses flying the stars and stripes. Hopefully I'll remember next year!

I just wrote my story :-)
Hey, Susie!
Love your digiscrapbook & blog. Came across it as I was looking for Camo backgrounds - working on a scrapbook for my hubby serving in Afghanistan. I really like your Camo Page Kit and finally found a way to contact you (how appropriate on 9-11). Is there any way I can get/buy the kit from you? Please let me know. By the way, it seems as if I found a new friend - I never met you but made connections on many levels as I looked trough your pictures :)
Allmanova, you've found a way to get a hold of me, but I can't get a hold of you! So if you check back here, email me at susielancaster@gmail.com
I am asking $3.99 for my Camo page kit. It comes with 4 backgrounds (blue camo, olive camo, steel plate, and olive circles) and the elements are: dog tags, ball chain, duct tape, heavy-duty staple, wire mesh, journaling stamp, manly punch labels, and a 3D olive green star.
The Add On Pack is $2.99 and includes three backgrounds (orange camo, pink camo, and a cream background) and the elements are: water damaged piece torn off of a brown paper bag, black plastic arrow with screws, diamond-plate parenthesis, more manly punch labels, and three steel hex nuts.
I also have a Paper Bag alpha and a Diamond Plate alpha that coordinate. They are $1.99 each.
If you're familiar with DSP, I'm basing my prices on theirs.
I'll post some previews of my products on this blog so you can check them out!
