Jared loves Tootsie Rolls and Tootsie Pops. But he pronounces it "Tetsie," which has been bugging me of late. I thought he'd finally get it, but he just never did. So last night, I coached him on it.
"Jared, it's Tuht-sie, not Tetsie. It's spelled T-O-O, like in book, so it's Tuht-sie." (forgive me on the phonetic spelling, but you know what I mean)
That was a mistake.
I could see the wheels turning in his head. Then he got a goofy grin and said, "Then it's really supposed to be Toot-sie! It has the word "toot" in it! It's a toot roll! Eeew! It has the word "toots!"
This was followed by 10 minutes of hysterical laughter by both boys.
Who taught that kid how to spell, anyway?
