I'm a little worried about Zach. Today I noticed that his left front tooth is turning brown!
When I was little (I don't remember how old I was, but I think I was 3?), I was running to catch up with my mom and apparently missed the fact that there were three concrete steps between me and her. I hit my front teeth on one of the steps and it hurt like crazy. I don't remember the pain, actually, but I have this dim memory of my mom ahead of me and seeing the steps too late. My teeth died and turned brown. They stayed that way until I was about 7, when they got pulled (my teeth just didn't know when to fall out on their own!)
The thing is, I don't remember Zach hitting his tooth. You'd think that a collision strong enough to damage a tooth would also elicit much crying and carrying on. But....
Wait a minute. I Googled about brown teeth, and someone said that her child's tooth turned brown 2 weeks after a bonk in the mouth. I vaguely remember bleeding on that very tooth, up around the gum. Hmmmm...when was that? Could that be the culprit?
Does anyone have any experience with this? Do you think it warrants a trip to the dentist?

Are you just begging for my professional opinion? :)
Just keep an eye on it. I wouldn't take him to the dentist for a special trip. If you notice any swelling or he complains of any kind of pain, then I would probably make an appointment. But, he's probably just fine. A discolored tooth is nothing to worry about unless there are other problems accompanying it. And, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's dead (it could be, but it's not a given...)
