KNOCK KNOCK!
The boys are really into jokes right now. The problem is that they don't understand them, really, when they hear them. They just laugh because everyone else is. So they don't understand what makes them funny, but they try making them up, anyway.

They're in love with knock-knock jokes. They seem to think the key is to make it rhyme. So here's a typical knock-knock joke from them (they both seem to have the same level of expertise.)

"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Hamburger and car and eyeball."
"Hamburger and car and eyeball who?"
"Hamburger and car and eyeball MOOO!"

See how tricky that is? That's an actual "joke" that Zach told me yesterday.

But the funniest part is that half a second after Zach finishes saying "hamburger and car and eyeball MOOO!" he says,
"Hey, that's not funny!"

Mmmm hmmmm.

Matt went through the knock-knock phase too and after telling his weird jokes he would say "That's funny, right?"

Funny stuff. I love when kids start figuring out the knock knock jokes with rhymes. If it gets out of control it can drive you nuts but overall watching them create their sense of humor is so cute :D

Kids are funny! Lizzy and Isaac are in the same stage. They don't understand how to tell the jokes either, but because what the say is silly they laugh and laugh at each other which encourages more laughter! They definitely feed off eachother. I loved Zach's response to Jared's joke!
