So Exciting!

It seems like we've had a lot of things needing upgrading or replacing lately. Big ticket items, too! Like a house, a laptop for Ryan, etc. And then there are the things we just wanted, like a DSLR and a camcorder. Thankfully, we've had enough $ for the things we need/want.

And now, it's my turn! My computer is older than Jared is. That means it's about 6 years old. It's still crazy to me that something that was so expensive can be nearly worthless in just 6 years! I don't mean worthless as in we couldn't sell it if we tried, I mean worthless as in it can hardly do its job anymore, so even just staying right where it is, it isn't all that valuable a tool.

It can take about 5 minutes to save a scrapbook page I've been working on. It takes about 5 minutes to boot up and be able to actually open a program (and no, it's not because my start menu is overloaded.) It takes about 5 minutes to open PhotoShop. I mentioned earlier that I can't run Firefox, Photoshop, and Windows Media Player. I always have Firefox and Photoshop open, so I can check people's blogs (or write in my own) while I'm waiting for Photoshop to save my files (and no, closing Firefox doesn't really speed up Photoshop.)

But this torture is soon to end. Ryan ordered me a new computer on Monday! The monitor (LCD!!! I'm so excited!) came yesterday, so now we're just waiting for the tower.

Speed. I can't wait for speed! There's only one (small) downside. When I get the chance to play a game online (especially the timed quizzes on FaceBook) I have a huge advantage over everyone else because the timer takes so long to load that I've already read the question and chosen an answer by the time it starts ticking away. I rock the Know-It-All quizzes! There. My secret's out. But the playing field will be leveled soon enough.

Hooray for new computers!

Woo Hoo! I love technology upgrades! I'm about ready to justify the expense of a modification to my computer set-up as well.
