This happened a while ago in the Sam's Club parking lot.
I think it was snowing, and the sun was setting. The mountains were lit up by the sunset, and we could see the lights from the ski resort way up on top of the highest peak. We paused on our way to the car to point these things out to the boys.
Zach lost his head a bit and started walking closer to get a better look. Right then, a car came down our row. The driver slammed on her brakes and shot us this look of terror and judgment. She had just about killed a little kid, and it was all our fault for not being careful enough. By the way, Zach really didn't get all that close to the car.
Nonetheless, I was embarrassed that we'd scared the lady so badly and that Zach's hand had mysteriously not been in mine.
We watched as the driver continued on her way to a parking spot. She was going way too fast! She slammed her brakes again to stop in the parking stall, but not before she rammed a shopping cart into another car.
Hmmmmm....I didn't feel so bad after that. What a nut.
