Movie Reviews

We've been watching a few movies lately, cashing in our free movie rental coupons we get from Discover card. I thought I'd put my two cents in about them.

Wall-E
Cute enough, I guess. I don't understand why Wall-E calls his love Eva when she clearly pronounces it (and the acronym is even explained) EVE. But that strangeness aside, environmentalists seem to have infiltrated Hollywood and secretly turned kids movies into propaganda!

First it was Happy Feet, which was actually a pretty dumb movie, and so obviously environmentalist propaganda. And now it's Wall-E. Because people managed to cover the entire earth in trash, making it completely hostile to life.

I did however like how it showed how lazy people can be, and what we would turn into if we didn't ever walk anywhere. I don't know why that agenda didn't bother me as much.

Monsters vs. Aliens
Zach and I saw this in the cheap theater. It seems like they're just trying to pump out more movies to make more money, without really putting time into the story. It was blah.

Night at the Museum
Zach fell asleep not to far into this one, but he's only 3 and it was bedtime. Jared, on the other hand, exclaimed, "This is the funniest show ever!" And you know, the parents enjoyed it, too!
I was surprised to hear the a-word once. I have heard people say that it's been so assimilated into our culture that it's not really a swear word anymore. Nonsense in my book, but maybe it's really happening?
We're excited to see Night at the Smithsonian when it gets to the cheap theater. We enjoyed it that much!

I didn't really like Monsters vs Aliens either. The only thing that got a laugh from the parents at our theatre was when the husband told Susan that Fresno is just like Paris.

We were watching the movie in Fresno.
