Swim lessons!

Today was the boys' first day of swim lessons. I thought they started at 11, but they end at 11 and start at 10:30. So I scrambled to get us there on time and forgot towels. We'd also planned on packing a picnic lunch to eat at the park right next to the pool, but I didn't have time for that, either. The boys were a bit disappointed, but they were so cold from having no towel that they decided home and a HOT lunch would be better, anyway.

We've taken the boys swimming at our neighborhood pool, and were worried by their reticence to get their heads wet. They were just rather wimpy about jumping in, putting their face in the water, etc., and I was worried about how they'd do in their lessons.

This is Zach's first year of lessons, and he's only old enough by 1 month. So he's just about as young as you can get. He did pretty well, although he got distracted and just wanted to play a few times. But he blew bubbles for the teacher, and then all on his own he went under. He was so excited at what he'd done! He grinned the entire lesson.

Jared is in his third year of lessons at this pool. There was one kid in his class that looked about the same age, but the other three were at least 7 or 8. I was pleased as I watched him, because he looked like he hadn't really lost any skills over the long winter.

It just proves that kids are better for other people than they are for their parents!

Oh, and I also forgot my camera, but I'll pack that and towels and a picnic blanket in the Jeep tonight.

Sounds like my day today. LOL. We were suppose to start swim lessons for both Caden and Brinley today, but it ended up raining all day long, and it is suppose to rain all week, so they pushed the lessons back a week to start. But, we got all the way down to Provo and stood outside the pool in the rain waiting for everyone to show. LOL. We are definately planning better next Monday morning so I am better prepared. I can't wait to see pictures!
