Trip to AZ Part 1

I'm finally getting around to blogging about out trip to Arizona! I've peppered the following posts with photos, but here's the link to all of them (I just stuck them all in March, even though we left in February.) I'm going to put my posts in reverse chronological order so they'll show up in order on the blog.

It was raining when we got in the van to leave on our adventure. Not too far down the road, it turned to snow. The roads weren't great, but it didn't seem to slow us too much. I did nearly have heart attacks several times as we passed semis spraying snow and water. (In college, I was in a bad car accident involving a semi and its spray).

I had a lot of fun shooting pictures out the window. With digital, why not?
The view inside the van:

We took the Legacy Highway when we got to Salt Lake, just for fun. Then we drove around the Salt Lake Temple before heading to Provo. We met our friends, the Bleyls, at the BYU Basketball game. It was Zach's and Luke's first game! It was fun to see good friends again. Their son is Jared's age, and all three boys cheered noisily from the camera platform, being goofy and rowdy the entire time.

We didn't get to our hotel until midnight, and we all slept hard. When we got on the road again, we ran into a little fog. Just a little.Yeah, it was pretty thick! When we got out of it, we could see what the fog was hiding. It was gorgeous snow!

There are several ways to get to AZ, and we took the route that takes us up near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We were ready for a pit stop when we got to Marble Canyon, so we got out and stretched our legs.

Our boys are amazing travelers! There wasn't any fighting or whining or crazy songs or sounds (if you've been around them when they're bored and making up stupid sounds or songs, you know what I'm talking about. They make you want to smash your head into a wall).

Another installment soon to follow!
