Standing Tall

Luke is so much like Jared was! At this age, Jared would pull up to something, like Grandma's pantry shelves, and grab something with both hands, like two boxes of pudding, and then wouldn't realize that he wasn't holding onto anything. He would stand there, oblivious to his accomplishment, until someone broke his concentration or he realized that he wasn't holding on to anything solid.  Then he'd hurry and sit down as fast as he could.

And that is exactly what Luke is doing! I have been having the hardest time catching it on camera because I want him to look at the camera and stand at the same time, and well, I'm just not interesting enough to distract him from the fact that he's balancing precariously on those tiny little feet on the ends of his legs. Scary! So he sits down fast. I did snap this one, though.

But his brothers? Now they're interesting. I stood Luke up on his feet, handed him a favorite toy (a spoon) and then Jared and Zach started wrestling. Luke stood there for a full 30 seconds, head turned sideways, while I snapped 11 pictures of him standing rock-steady.  Crazy!
