Extreme Cuteness!!!

Of course, Luke has always been cute, but now, wow, he is just off the charts!

When my mom was visiting, he planted his first kiss on her. I was a tiny bit sad that I wasn't first, but what a cute story! And besides, he planted two on me just minutes later.

Also while my mom was here, she noticed that he was "rolling" his arms when we did Patty-Cake. Now, he claps his hands, then rolls his arms, then claps again until the finale, when he throws his arms way up high to "throw it in the oven." Or, if he's on my lap, he'll just as often grab my fingers and make me clap, which he thinks is pretty funny.

He sometimes waves furiously when someone comes into the room, but he nearly always squinches up his face into a huge smile.

Of course, it's always pretty cute to watch him when he decides to walk, looking like a Wild West gunslinger at high noon as he swings one side of his body forward, then the other.

A recent cuteness development is Popcorn. I sang the song "Popcorn Popping" to him and did the actions for the first time a few days ago. He watched intently for the first half of the song, and on the last line, he opened and closed his hands, doing the "popping" action. I couldn't believe he picked it up so fast! Now, I just sing a long "I" and he starts "popping" some popcorn.

His very latest achievement in cuteness was last night, when Ryan noticed that he was holding a rectangular toy to his ear. "Is he talking on the phone?" he asked. So we started paying attention. It sure seemed like it. He tired of his new game after a while, until I said, "Hello?" and he immediately put his hand to his ear again.

And he knows he's cute, and is proud of it, because he claps for all his wonderful accomplishments. And we all clap for him, too.
