Today Jared had cabin fever and asked to go to the store. When I said we didn't need anything, he said, "Go 'nother store?" No. "Go somewhere?"
So I got out the wading pool and I swept the front porch, hosed off the dusty window sills, shutters, and entryway, and some other things requiring the hose while Jared ran all over the yard and splashed in the pool. Then we got too hot and came back inside. Then Jared asked, "now we go somewhere?" I guess the front yard doesn't count as somewhere.
He's taken to napping on his floor. He wants to "sweep on carpet." So we lay out his blankie and his pillow and he does just great! But he hasn't asked to sleep there at night, for which I'm thankful.
A friend gave him a Bob the Builder bank that says, "Can we build it? Yes we can!" when you put money in. But today, Jared pressed the top of his head and said, "That was easy." I don't know how he remembered Ryan's Easy Button from Staples (since he hasn't seen it in months), or why he thought Bob should say that, but whatever!
Oh, and when we're cleaning up, Jared says that he has one more job to do. I guess that's from Bob the Builder, too. I say "great! Your job is to clean up more toys!" And he does it willingly. I think I like Bob!

Yesterday at Nursery, Jared cried again. Last week it was because he didn't want to do bubbles at the end of class. He said he couldn't reach them. This week he cried during singing time. He was fine when we sang, "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam," but lost it when I started teaching the kids, "Saturday is a Special Day." I think it's because that's "our" song to sing together and he was jealous of our personal singing time being shared with all the other kids. The one incumbent nursery worker says that Jared talks a lot more when I'm there, but he also is acting up a lot more. He also threw a fit when it was time to put away the toys and do bubbles. I wonder if he thinks that since I'm staying until after Nursery, he ought to be able to play longer? I dunno! I hope things get better, because I have to spend a lot of time talking Jared out of his fits and crying.
Ryan's been taking Zach for the whole two hours of Nursery, and Zach has been awesome. It's a strange feeling, though, because between Sister Stapley hogging him during Sacrament Meeting and Ryan taking him the rest of the block, during church I feel like I don't even have a baby!
