I KNOW I KEEP SAYING THIS, BUT...
My kid is huge! I am packing away his 3-6 month clothes. I pulled out the 6-9 month box, got out a brand new 6M outfit, and the crotch won't stay snapped. So I put this one on him--Jared wore it at 8 months. It's none too big. His jammies are all too short, so I got him some out of the 6-9 box and they looked comfy. Then I looked at the tag and it says 9 months. It's the outfit Jared was wearing in this photo. Jared was 8 months old in that photo too, but it just hit me how huge a disparity it is because Jared was cruising already when he wore it! I had the thought that some babies his size can crawl. Ryan said some kids his size can walk!
I'm a little bummed, because I was planning on recreating some of my favorite photos of Jared for Zach. Like this series of baseball photos and this one that I turned into an "old-fashioned portrait."
The funny thing is that he seems to have long legs, so he still doesn't seem too big for his infant car seat. I'm going to ask about it at his doctor's appointment on Thursday.
He's pushing up pretty well now, and has started batting at and trying to grab toys. He stares jealously at food on our plates. He's been eating about one small baby jar worth of rice cereal with apple juice, and tonight he got applesauce for the first time. He did the same thing Jared did--slowed down the gulping to taste it and his eyes got wide. So cute!
He's also starting to pull up his hands when he's sitting, instead of using them to prop himself up.
Anywho, I'm excited for his doc appt. to see how much he weighs and get the go-ahead to expand his culinary horizons.
