OH WHAT A NIGHT!
Last night was quite the night. Just after Jared finally fell asleep, Ryan called to say that his Jeep had broken down while he was running errands for work. Lynne's phone wasn't working and she had her cell phone turned off. I desperately didnt' want to wake up Jared, so I snuck the baby monitor into his room and took the other half to the neighbor's house.
So Zach and I rescued Ryan from the broiling parking lot he'd pulled into when he heard something spraying. He opened the hood and saw a broken hose spewing coolant all over the engine. Hot coolant sprayed his thumb and burned it. Ouch!
We got home and Ryan called his automotive-minded brother, Scott. He wasn't home and was working late, so we decided to go drive the Jeep home with lots of stops to add water to the radiator. But it wouldn't hold the water, so we decided we needed to tow it. We went to the nearest WalMart to buy a tow rope, then discovered that my Jeep doesn't have tow hooks. Ah! So we called Ryan's dad to come tow it with his truck. He picked up Ryan in front of Walmart and they left to get the Jeep, and I took the boys home. Or I would have, but I discovered that Ryan had inadvertantly taken my keys with him. So I was stranded at 9:30 pm in a Walmart parking lot with a hungry baby. And did I mention it was hot? But I knew that Ryan would discover my keys the second he put his hand in his pocket to open his Jeep, so we just waited. Ryan came back ASAP and saved us. Man, it just wasn't our night!
