ZACH IS 4 MONTHS OLD!We just got back from Zach's 4-month check-up. He weighs 17 pounds, 1 ounce (90th percentile), and is 27 inches tall (abover 95th percentile, off the chart!). He showed off how well he sits up for the doctor, who had a little talk with Zach. He told him that he's a BABY, and he needs to start acting like one. He isn't supposed to sit up and smile and talk and push up and grab his toes yet. The doctor told me that most of those things are 6-month old tasks. He also said that most babies at 4 months don't grab his stethoscope, but Zach would hardly let go!
Luckily, he said that he's still okay in his infant car seat even though he's above the overall height limit for it. He's the opposite of Jared and has long legs, so he doesn't sit as tall in the seat.
He also gave us the go-ahead to try all sorts of fruits and veggies now. Keeping up with his appetite is proving to be a challenge, just like with Jared.
Of course, Zach didn't like his shots, but he was a champ and only cried for a few seconds after each one. But the nurse couldn't do two at a time like she wanted to, because he is too strong and she couldn't hold his legs still. When she said goodbye, she said, "and next time, you'll be crawling!" I suppose that's possible! Yikes, I'd better start baby proofing.
All the busyness of today kept Zach up later than usual, so HALLELUJAH, both boys are asleep at the same time! I've been living a Whack-a-Mole carnival game the past few weeks. When I finally get one down, the other one pops up. It's enough to make me pull my hair out!
I've posted a few of Zach's 4-month pictures, so check them out! Click on photo above or here.
