BRAGGIN' TIME AGAIN
Jared was playing a computer game in which he had to figure out the sounds that two letters make together. He did it rather easily! I was so impressed. But when he ran off to the bathroom, Zach sat on my lap and we fiddled around with Jared's game. The word WEB popped up as part of the game, and Zach pointed to the B and said, "bee." He's been calling all letters either "B" or "O," so I wasn't too surprised. But then he pointed again and said "Eeee." Hmmm...so I pointed to the first letter and said, "and what is that?" "Duh-doo," he said. He knows W!!!
Curious, I took him to the fridge and grabbed our basket of letter magnets. As he pulled them out, he named 13 letters or said which sound they make. He knows A, B, D, E, F, H, L, O, P, S, and Y. And when he pulled out the W, he said, "Duh-doo" again, then spun it upside down and said, "Mmmmmm." I couldn't get my jaw off the floor! But I have witnesses, so I know it really happened.
And yesterday, he pointed to a T and said, "Tuh tuh tuh." So make that 14 letters. At 20 months old, he knows more than half of the alphabet! Crazy!
I swear I haven't worked on letters with him. He's played with Jared's Leap Frog toys, and that's what has done it. I'm really not some pushy, academia-crazed mom, I promise!!!

Okay, over-achiever with brainiac kids.... No, really, that's awesome!! Garet has always been alot faster at everything than Kaleb was. He knew his whole alphabet, could sing lots of songs by memory, and could count to 100 by the time he was 3. Maddie, on the other hand, doesn't know any letters right now and loves to copy what she hears!!
