ST. PATRICK'S DAY
It's not a real exciting holiday, is it? It may be for the bar-going community, at least as far as I can tell from the kinds of tee shirts and decorations I've seen, which all revolve around beer, but it's just not for me.
But I tried to make it fun for the boys.

First, we scoured our closets for green things to wear. Jared got decked out in camo from head to toe. Zach wore a green shirt, but then asked why his pants weren't green, too. He actually has green corduroy pants, but I refuse to mix olive and forest. Eew!

Then Zach and I put on our green jackets and went shopping. I put this in only so I can brag. It has nothing to do with St. Patty's. We stopped at GoodWill because it was in the same parking lot as the emissions inspection place I had to go to. Zach is in dire need of pants, and I saw two toys that he'd go gaga over on his birthday. Then I found some jeans and cords, for $2 and $1 respectively.
When I got to the register, everything rang up at half-price. Turns out all the yellow tags were 50% off. I only had one thing in my cart that didn't have a yellow tag. Cha-ching! So I spent $4 on two birthday gifts and two pair of pants. And now Zach won't run around with his too-small pants falling off of him, or his too-big pants folded up at the hem and down at the waist.

Now back to our celebrations. We have ONE decoration, which we put up yesterday. I should work on that (can you say Clearance?). So our celebration consisted mainly of dinner. We had green pancakes, green scrambled eggs, bacon (not green), and "Shamrock Shakes." These consisted of frozen fruit and spinach. Supposedly insanely healthy. The boys slurped theirs down and asked for seconds, but Ryan wasn't convinced. As for me, it's not bad, but then again it's not that good, either. Maybe we'll try it again with less "Shamrock." Then again, I love spinach in a salad. Why don't I just eat it that way?

So what do you do for St. Patty's Day?
