Wow, have we really been married seven years? That seems like a long time.
There we are, seven years ago!
Ryan says he chose May 11th so I couldn't get the numbers confused. Because I diagnosed myself with number dyslexia. If you tell me to remember the number 24, I might tell you 42 (inverting the numbers), or 12 (it's half of 24) or 21 (it's half of 42 and the inverse of 12) or 84 or 36 or 48 (multiples of 12). It's like numbers do acrobatics in my head. But 11 is pretty much safe. I can't mess it up!
I didn't realize it was the day before Mother's Day until I tried to find a florist for the wedding. They said, "Are you kidding? You want flowers before our second-busiest day of the year?" But apparently purple hydrangea isn't a hot item for Mother's Day, because they pulled it off.

I remember going out to celebrate our anniversary the night before Zach was born. His birthday is just 5 days before our anniversary. I knew we'd never make it out on a date with a 5-day old! So we dropped Jared off at Grandma's house, found a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant that's only open on certain days, and I wedged myself into a booth. I ate all the yummy food I could, because I wasn't allowed anything after midnight. Then we went on our hospital tour. Uh, yeah, that was kind of last-minute. All the girls on the tour, most of whom who still weren't wearing maternity clothes, just stared at me, looking absolutely terrified that one day they'd be as huge as I was. The next morning, we reported to the hospital for a c-section.
This year, we'll have to celebrate late. Ryan is working late tonight, and this weekend we're going to Jackson Hole for the annual engineering conference. I don't think an anniversary date really counts if the kids come along, so we can't even call our trip an anniversary trip.
Yikes. Between Zach's birthday, Mother's Day, and the annual conference, our anniversary nearly gets swallowed up!
But I'm going to take Ryan to the new Tucanos that just opened in Boise. He's actually already been there, but I'm the one who wants some Brazilian food, so he has to go again :) I just don't know when.

Happy 7th anniversary, Susie!
uh oh, the seven year itch! LOL
Tucanos has great food. Love the photo. Isn't it fun to look back on memories of how young we look? :)
