Our grass is blue

I have nothing against Boise State. I think their football stadium's blue fake grass is kind of cool, as is its nickname, "Smurf Turf."

What I cannot comprehend is the license plate frames I see all over town. All these people want to show their support of the local university, and I certainly hope they only have one choice when it comes to license plate frames, because if not, I have no faith in the intelligence of humanity.

The clever, snappy, catchy logo that Boise State came up with, to plaster all over license plate frames everywhere, is "OUR GRASS IS BLUE."

Way to show off how great your school is, the quality of education you provide, the pride you have in your athletics program. Apparently, the only thing they think is worth mentioning is the color of their grass.

They didn't even do it in a clever way! Just "Our Grass Is Blue." Woo. Hoo.

Maybe I just don't get it.

I think the idea is that its the thing that can ONLY be associated with BSU. Lots of schools have quality educations and great athletic programs... but who else has blue grass? And, you never ever question which school it is...

Okay, so how about "Home of the Smurf Turf" or "True Blue Turf" or something remotely more inventive than "Our grass is blue?"
