I'm painting! I've got the kitchen almost done. The blue masking tape was sort of hit-or-miss. Some of the lines were nice and crisp, while in other places the paint seeped pretty badly. So now I'm doing some tiny cutting in with a craft brush.
Then I'm on to the family room!
It's so exciting to have some color on the walls! I'm having a lot of fun. Pictures coming soon!

You can get a perfectly straight line painting by using tub and tile caulk. Just seal the edge of the tape using the caulk, paint like usual and pull off the tape before the paint dries. You can also use paint. Seal the edge of the tap with the same paint color that's under the tape. I did stripes in my daughters room and the lines came perfect! Good luck painting.

We sealed our tape with caulking as well - a thin bead along the tape and then smooth out with your finger. It worked beautifully - no leaks!
