Baby Update

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. I had to take the glucose-tolerance test, meaning I had to drink this super-sweet drink and then get blood drawn. I don't have the results yet, but I was so proud of myself for remembering to ask for something other than the regular tape to stick on the cotton ball after the blood draw. That tape hurts so bad to rip off, and it gives me little blood blisters! Ouch!

My doctor was at the hospital delivering a baby. Surprisingly, that's never happened to me before! So I saw a very nice Nurse Practicioner. She felt around and told me where the head and bum and feet are. As if the baby will stay in that position! But it was fun to hear.

There's one small complication. Today I'm 26 weeks, so I should measure 26 cm. At my last visit, I was 22 weeks and 22 cm, so right on. But yesterday I measured 29 cm (or three weeks bigger than usual). It's 3 cm. It seems like it would be very difficult to measure anything that accurately, and it seems odd that they would order tests because of such a slight aberration, but I won't complain. That's because I get another ultrasound! It's scheduled for September 9th. They're going to try to figure out why I'm "so big," whether it be a giant baby (Jared and Zach were big, but I never measured big) or extra amniotic fluid or whatever. I just want a gender confirmation so I can finally lay to rest my illogical but relentless hope that they were wrong.

Now when I tell people that I feel huge, I actually have medical proof!

Keep me posted on how things go! :) I hope everything is ok. And yeah, I don't think that they could be too wrong with it being a boy. Sorry to say, but yeah. :) Love you!
