S'Mores

I've been wanting to go camping all summer. Camping for the sake of camping. Camping when we have time to sit around a fire and roast marshmallows. Usually, when we camp, it's a cheap alternative to a hotel, so we're always rushing through meals so we can get out to see the things we went to see, then we get back to camp and go straight to bed.

We just couldn't find the time or a close enough place to go and enjoy that kind of camping, so I gave up! Besides, we still hadn't used the fire ring in our own back yard! Just for fun, Ryan set up the tent and the boys camped in the back yard that night. I voted to sleep inside in a soft bed instead.
It was so fun! We burned the wood that had been left in the ring for who knows how long.

And we tried Meltaway Hershey's Kisses for the chocolate, thinking they'd melt better than the Hershey's bars. They're really soft at room temperature. I'm not sure they really melted, but they were easily smooshed onto the graham crackers with a marshmallow! And they looked so cute.
The boys each tried roasting marshmallows, but eventually they left that task to the experts....

...and instead just enjoyed the finished product!
Zach was deeply in smit with S'mores!
