Swimming Season is Over

The boys did a lot of swimming this summer! They had lessons almost all summer long. Jared did so great, advancing to Level 3. Most of the kids in his class were 8+ years old! Zach, on the other hand, is a goof off. He loves the water, and just wants to play on the steps. He doesn't want the "class" part. So he was still in Level 1 when summer ended. That's okay. He's young.

But Ryan and I didn't get to swim all that much. So for one last hurrah before the neighborhood pool closed, we all went swimming.
Zach is so tan! Not fair.
Now we know why they close all the summer stuff on Labor Day (or earlier). The pool was cold! It had started cooling off enough at night that the water just lost all its warmth. We had planned to spend hours at the pool, but lasted just half an hour.

Still, Ryan got in a few strokes and showed off his butterfly.
He says it warmed him up.
