Proudly Announcing:

Luke Hollister Lancaster

See more pictures here.

After a fairly relaxed morning, Ryan and I reported to the hospital about 10 am yesterday. Just as they were finishing my prep work, we got news that we'd been bumped by an emergency c-section. So we had to wait about an hour longer than we'd expected.

Luke was born at 1:14 pm. We couldn't believe he only weighed 7 lbs 7 oz! He's our smallest, but also our tallest at 22 inches! So it'll be interesting to see how our little lightweight grows into his skinny stringbean body. And his body isn't the only thing that's long. One of the first comments I heard was, "Wow, look at how long his hair is!" When it's not slicked down, it looks like Muppet fur :)

The c-section was much better this time, and my awesome nurse helped me avoid medications I'd had bad reactions to last time. Recovery was better, too, although it took a while to get the pain under control. It was much easier to put the pain out of my mind when Ryan and Luke got to come see me while I was still in Recovery. I got to hold and snuggle tiny Luke and forget about everything else.

Jared and Zach got to come meet their baby brother after school. They oohed and aahed over his tiny toes and asked all sorts of questions about the millions of tubes attached to me. They're having some separation-from-Mommy issues, but they're doing pretty well.

Everything is going just great on this end. I hope things are going as well at home!

Love, love, love him! He is adorable. :) I absolutely want to take him home with me. Although I think I might have to fight you on that one. LOL Hope you're doing good.

Susie, he is so handsome! I am glad that everything went smoothly this time around. Why does it take having three to get things down? Lydia was also my best delivery.
Congrats to you and your family!
