Driving Home Through Utah

On the way home from Phoenix, we drove through Utah. We love Utah! We got to visit the Bleyls for a little while, and then we headed to the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point. We pretty much just call it "The Dinosaur Museum" because that's the boys' favorite part, but they have other things, too.

Jared builds a crazy dinosaur. The parts hook and Velcro onto the body.
Luke liked all the dino parts and kept hugging them.

This is the Erosion Table. It's filled with sand and water, plus has little plastic dinosaurs and trees.

You can build dams and hills with the sand. The water flows very slowly, but will break through your dams and cause floods, which uncover your "fossil" dinosaurs and trees, and bury others.

Check out the huge dam Jared built!

Baby Jared sitting on the baby Protoceratops.
Big Jared sitting on the same statue, just about as excited about it as he was 7 years ago.

Zach being his crazy self, running away from me.

Luke by the scary fish.
Baby Jared by the same fish, almost 7 years earlier.

This is always a favorite picture spot. This is a gigantic ancestor of the Great White.

This stinker kept climbing on the exhibits, then jumping off. Surprise, surprise.

This is Luke's first encounter with sand, and he was not a fan!

Jared uncovers a fossil in the sand area.

Zach digging up fossils with a paintbrush.

This room is just so cool, with these gigantic Sauropods!

Jared built this tower in their hands-on science area. That's patience!
Then we found a place with cheap ice-cream cones, and Luke got his own teeny one! He was definitely a fan of that.

Happy boys, ready for a rest and a treat!
