Our trip to Phoenix really cut into our planning time for Jared's birthday party, so he got two! On his birthday, we made a quick and festive cake. He designed the "7" cake-topper on the computer all by himself (well, with a leetle bit of technical support from me) on the computer.
Then we had a simple family party.

This is a Hot Wheels Mechanics set. He can mix and match all sorts of different parts to create different vehicles. Right up his alley!
My mom and dad sent him money to buy whatever he wanted! He'd never owned such a big bill. He felt super rich! Ryan's mom and dad sent him a subscription to National Geographic's kids magazine. He's still waiting for his first issue, but was so surprised to get an inflatable globe in the mail from the magazine.
We had a "friends" party about 2 weeks after his birthday, so I'll post about that separately.
