OLD WARD
We visited our old ward today. We were bombarded with people who wanted to talk, and didn't even make it to Sunday School. Our old neighbor filled us in on the people who bought our house. They remind everyone of us. A tall husband, brunette wife, and a 1-year old boy. Sounds just like us when we moved in! I got to see Eva and hold her new baby, Sarah. We saw lots of old friends and felt right at home again.
Lots of people thought Zach was Jared! He's grown a whole lot in the past year. Jared remembered a lot of the people and gave out some hugs.
Apparently, Jared unpacked his church clothes from his suitcase before we left. We scrounged for something for him to wear at the reception last night, and even harder this morning for church. In the end, the boys wore new tee-shirts with stripes sewn across their chests. They're new and they match, so they looked a little nicer than, say, their "It's My Brother's Fault" and "My Parents Are Exhausted" tee-shirts.
After church, Ryan drove us around a little bit to see the old neighborhood and a construction site. When we stilled lived here, Ryan designed the site plan for the building and parking lot. He saw that they were following his plan, with retention basins and overflow valves and all sorts of things I don't understand! It's pretty cool to see something you design actually come to pass.
